I got my DSLR camera

Remember my past posting on purchasing an SLR camera? After weeks of tossing and turning bed, unable to sleep and eat, unable to take my bath feeling clean, unable to fart comfortably, unable to urinate peacefully, unable to "berak" without feeling got some more dumpings or not.......i finally got my "baby". Lo and behold...my Canon EOS 1000D.
*
I spent most of my yesterday reading the manual and still feeling a photography geek. First glance of the camera i thought to myself...aiya, damn easy one lah. Just point, adjust the lense and click only mah. And then I bought some mags on phorography. The more I went thru the mag, the more confused I got. TV lah (and btw, its not televison, its Time Value)....AE Lock lah, AF lah, Aperture lah....Aiyo, why so damn confusing. I was slowly beginning to understand the fun of taking pictures, be it landscapes, potraits, insects, flowers and stuff. My wife was actually against me buying it as it did take a chunk out of my savings. But i told her "Which would you prefer me to get into. Golf or photography?"....then without a second thought, she replied photography.

And so, last nite I met up with some of my photography cronies and chatted for hours. Learned a lot from them. But all of them said why did I buy Canon and not Nikon. They said that I would soon find out I would not be satisfied with my "baby" and would regret my decision. So I called my professional photography buddy from KL and he said Why you bother what they said. Now you've bought the camera, use it first lah. When you get use to it, you can upgrade the lenses lor. I also use Canon, Nikon and Pentax. Different camera good for different locations and job. Dun worry, I will guide you". Then I tot to myself, ya hor.......my money ma, not theirs so wth!!! And btw, this pro buddy of mine is a pro from various mags in M'sia and S'pore. So, whom should I listen to.....

I took quite a number of pictures from my "baby" but paiseh to paste them on my blog. Still very amateurish. I need to take time to revamp those photos from my laptop. Will paste the photos later this month. Stay tune!!!

You should listen to yourself. Every camera can take good pictures when used right. Snaps away! It's great fun and the possibilities are endless. :D

Thanks for dropping by my blog. Hope to see you around. :)

cc : great minds think alike. cheers..

roses : an slr camera can do a bunch of other things as compared to a normal digital camera. mine is about rm2k...rm1999 to be axact. good reviews from the loc mags as well as the foreign ones....

md : kalau nenek kebayan cun....gua ok!!!

chris : yup...the pictures were gorgeous. i'll try to include some pictures when im free. but still amateur style lah...hehehe

clef : i buy camera only wor...not kiu kai, or disco mah...hahaha. my "original" baby gave the green light to buy....she's my financial controller...:P

lcfu : my advise for you bro, read reviews from the mags instead of friends. no doubt they have the experience, but they will only make you even more confusing. if you aim for a better one, i think ranging from rm2.5k to rm3k would be more than sufficient....good luck on the purchase.

pete : coming very soon to the theatres near you....hehehe

stp : no what...your pics oso interesting mah....its the content that counts. thanks for visiting again. cheers

amjan : alo....nko bukannye betina. nko jantan. ambik gambar nko membazir memory card aku je.....hahahaha :P

mjoe : ive thought of purchasing a nikon but the sales girl said that that nikon's hardware are much more expensive and in kuantan not much choice. they have a wide range of canon goodies, so i ended up buying my "baby". anyways, still an amateur. when im better then i'll think of upgrading. not for a few more years though...

lianne : wah!! so fast. err..actually i have been saving for like ages. plus, waiting for the approval from my wife oso took me ages. bought it 1st then ask for approval....hehehe. she cant say no now right?

jo : yes, i took multiples of pictures around town. but due to me lack of experience and being an amateur, the pictures werent that interesting. but their colours and contrast was wayyyyy better. plus i can edit with their software. i'll be posting my so called "pictures" soon. stay tuned....cheers

Golf or photography?

Photography might be more expensive than golf, especially on the higher end part as you advances. Each lens is about 4 digits, with some up to 5, and they are all sold separately; where as a set of golf club has all the clubs you need to play a round of 36 holes.

Hehe. :D

Welcome to the club anyway. :D

jason, yah ive noticed. but my wife said that its ok for photography, she can follow me around. but for golf....couldnt manage to coax her to play. shes just stubborn. anyways, thanks for dropping by...cheers
