Thai style "Tung Fan" salad

It's Hari Raya Aidilfitri....so holiday for 2 days. So, Rachel decided to put her cooking skills to the test. I 1st ate this when I was in Kemaman. One of our neighbours who were from Thailand were kind enuff to bring some of this wonderful dish for dinner. Anyways, we woke up early this morning to buy the ingredients from the wet market. What you need are :-
*
Ingredients :-
1/2 kg "Tung Fun"
Some cloves of shallots
Parsley
Prawns
Squids
Lime Juice
Minced Pork
"Ha Mai"
Cili Padi
Fish Sauce....im actually not sure if you can get it in Malaysia. The one that we used was given by our Thai neighbour. It kinda looks like soy sauce.
*
I will not be posting the "how to" as basically all you need is to mixed 'em all up and voila!! you have an authentic Thai dish. Noticed I didnt put how many grams or how many of the stuff you need. It is all up to you. If any of you should want to try this dish at home, Rachel and I will not be held responsible if you have tummy upset...lol

hi josephine. rachel here, calvin's wife...lol. good to know that you like thai salad. it depends on your liking. the fish sauce is quite salty, so you have to be careful with the amount you put in. today, for 1/2 kg tong fun, i use 3 big tablespoon. do try out soon and be sure to inform calvin with your outcome... :)

Hihi Rachel... I've heard a lot about you and how Calvin loves and adore you. *squeal* you got to tell me about your trip to Taiwan soon. I've been wanting to hear it from you. LOL.

Anyway, Calvin...thank god it's holiday... I'm overdosed with lemang *grunt*. Maybe i will give Rachel's recipe a try when I'm not so high on lemang. LOL.

Ah, yeah... Calvin... fish sauce, or 'nampla' can be obtained from supermarkets. It's actually quite common. I also have a bottle at home, use it a little bit to cook tomyum and to season some stuff. It can also be used to make mango salad. :-D

Carrefour, Giant and Tesco, all got sell this nampla. :-P

My friends sell that at their takeaway - 3Q. I posted on it sometime ago. They do not use pork or prawns...lots of shredded unripe mango, buah emplam, green apples, cucumber plus fried ikan bilis for RM3.50 and for 50 sen extra, they add sambal petai! Nice!!!
