Women has PMS, how about the men?

Friends, I’m sure all of you male colleagues have had this issue with their partners: Once a month, your partner gets into all kinds of mood which pisses you of but u cant say anything about it coz you’ll have to understand that she is going through PMS. I’ve got some good news!!!!!!!!!!! Read below: males get IMS, equivalent to PMS on a daily basis. Now, we can be angry, moody and a bit off EVERYDAY and just blame it on IMS. Thank god for being male. Hehehe. Check i tout on Wikipedia as well.

Irritable Male Syndrome - The Male Version of P.M.S.81

Well, ladies, it's finally happened...and we've only ourselves to blame. After decades of telling our men that we wanted them to be more sensitive to our needs, sharing our favorite hair stylists with them, convincing them that there was absolutely nothing wrong with being manicured, pedicured and waxed, they've taken the final step and gotten their own syndrome.

Unlike our own beloved and much maligned, PMS, however, IMS (Irritable Male Syndrome) is not confined to a single week of the month. Without treatment, it's more like having PMS 24/7 without the gratifying chocolate binge and overwhelming urge to cry during sentimental television commercials. Yes, I know...it sounds horrible, doesn't it? At least if we're caught piggying an entire pint of Häagen-Dazs, we have the luxury of blaming it on hormones even if we claimed the same excuse just the previous week. No sane man would dare question it.

Now I understand that some of these symptoms occur naturally for the male of the species without IMS, such as being a Mr. Cranky Pants and forgetting what a laundry hamper looks like. Perhaps Prince Charming has put on a bit of extra padding because of your good cooking and every once in a while he's just too darned tired to do anything more than operate a remote control from the couch in the living room. Understand that just like our Häagen-Dazs moment, this is not IMS.

Actually, IMS can be rather serious and while I make light of it in this hub, a man displaying a large number of these symptoms should seek the advice of his doctor.

...and this was a worry?

IMS is a hormonal imbalance of testosterone. Unlike, andropause (previously known by the quaint term "mid-life crisis") IMS can strike a man at any age. According to Jed Diamond, a proponent of IMS therapy, many men experiencing IMS know that something is wrong, but because they view a fluctuation or decline in testosterone level as being rather unmanly, they simply choose to deny its existence and refuse to seek the help that they need.

Mr. Diamond points out in his book, The Irritable Male Syndrome, that while it seems perfectly normal to assume that women are hormonal and men are moved more by logic, this is far from the truth. Men are in fact just as hormonally driven as women (and in some cases more so) by hormonal cycles:

Testosterone levels fluctuate four or five times an hour

Testosterone levels are higher in the morning and lower at night

Men have a monthly hormonal cycle that is unique to each man

Testosterone levels are higher in November and lower in April

Andropause, or male menopause, occurs in men between the ages of 40 and 55

Hormonal changes can be related to stress

The medical community is only beginning to acknowledge this syndrome as being possible...which is pretty much how they viewed the theory of PMS when it first began to gain popularity. Fortunately, men are finding a great deal of empathy on the matter in their female counterparts, who seek to understand why a simple request like "Please pass the salt" is met with a response like "take, take, take...that's all you ever do!" We've been there, done that and have the t-shirts to prove it.

Like PMS, certain factors such as being overweight, improper diet, smoking, drinking and use of medication (whether medically necessary or for strictly recreational purposes) can exacerbate the problem. Uncontrolled stress can also lead to the more serious symptoms of IMS. Daily stressors such as work, traffic, the government can provoke feelings of uncontrolled anger and helplessness which unfortunately can make a man overly aggressive with those closest to him. Even worse, the anger can turn inward and force them to harm themselves.

Do not read if easily offended by bad language...

...if you were offended it's your own fault. I warned you.

Personally thinking, why should anyone be miserable when there are other options? While milder symptoms of IMS can be controlled through relaxation exercises and diet modification, more serious symptoms can be treated with hormone replacement therapy. Why put your mental health, your relationships and job at risk? It all starts with recognizing the symptoms, consulting your physician and making a commitment to get help.

Still not sure if you are suffering from Irritable Male Syndrome and not Typical Male Syndrome? Feel free to discover this website and take the test.

The Irritable Male Syndrome

It's not just for men, by the way. I took it for my own husband. Of course, I'm sure that things are different from his perspective, so I'm curious what his results will be.

At least one good thing has come from this information. I no longer have to put up with PMS jokes...

That is a lot. I think it is best to take it in small steps. 45 Most Important Lessons In Life

More often than not, we grumble at things that does not go our way. And some even leads to angry and snobbish words mistakenly uttered to our loved ones. Take time to ponder these lessons and check ourselves every now and then. But let's be fair, we are no God. We are not perfect, and we do make mistakes. Learn from our mistakes, we must......and may the force be with you all... :)

1. Life isn't fair, but it's still good.

2. When in doubt, just take the next small step.

3. Life is too short to waste time hating anyone.

4. Your job won't take care of you when you are sick. Your friends and parents will. Stay in touch.

5. Pay off your credit cards every month.

6. You don't have to win every argument. Agree to disagree.

7. Cry with someone. It's more healing than crying alone.

8. It's OK to get angry with God. He can take it.

9. Save for retirement starting with your first paycheck.

10. When it comes to chocolate, resistance is futile.

11. Make peace with your past so it won't screw up the present.

12. It's OK to let your children see you cry.

13. Don't compare your life to others. You have no idea what their journey is all about.

14. If a relationship has to be a secret, you shouldn't be in it.

15. Everything can change in the blink of an eye. But don't worry; God never blinks.

16. Take a deep breath. It calms the mind.

17. Get rid of anything that isn't useful, beautiful or joyful.

18. Whatever doesn't kill you really does make you stronger.

19. It's never too late to have a happy childhood. But the second one is up to you and no one else.

20. When it comes to going after what you love in life, don't take no for an answer.

21. Burn the candles, use the nice sheets, wear the fancy lingerie. Don't save it for a special occasion. Today is special.

22. Over prepare, then go with the flow.

23. Be eccentric now. Don't wait for old age to wear purple.

24. The most important sex organ is the brain.

25. No one is in charge of your happiness but you.

26. Frame every so-called disaster with these words 'In five years, will this matter?'

27. Always choose life.

28. Forgive everyone everything.

29. What other people think of you is none of your business.

30. Time heals almost everything. Give time time.

31. However good or bad a situation is, it will change.

32. Don't take yourself so seriously. No one else does.

33. Believe in miracles.

34. God loves you because of who God is, not because of anything you did or didn't do.

35. Don't audit life. Show up and make the most of it now.

36. Growing old beats the alternative -- dying young.

37. Your children get only one childhood.

38. All that truly matters in the end is that you loved.

39. Get outside every day. Miracles are waiting everywhere.

40. If we all threw our problems in a pile and saw everyone else's, we'd grab ours back.

41. Envy is a waste of time. You already have all you need.

42. The best is yet to come.

43. No matter how you feel, get up, dress up and show up.

44. Yield.

45. Life isn't tied with a bow, but it's still a gift.

and God will heal the wounded

Of late, many events had happened. Some good, some bad. Some beyond our understanding. But I trust and believe that God will heal the wounded. It may be a blessing in disguise, it may be a teaching and an eye opener, it may be a time of self reflection and it may be God's way of testing our patience.
*
Whatever it may be, I believe that God has His way of doing things. I had never doubted His ways nor had I lost my faith. Let Thy will be done.
*
"Our Father
Who art in heaven
Hallowed be Thy name
Thy kingdom come
Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven
Give us this day, our daily bread
And forgive us, our trespasses
As we forgive those who trespassed against us
And lead us not into temptation
but deliver us from evil
for Thine is the kingdom
and the power, and the glory
Forever and ever
Amen!"

Blessings in marriage

Now, some of you may be contemplating the pros and cons in marriage. Some may say, "Why bother....I'm satisfied with what I have now. I'm free, no one's bugging me, I do what I want.....so what the heck!! Why commit yourself to one person when I can have many more to come". These were the answers I got from a friend who is now 35, unmarried. He has all the 5 Cs and a couple more Cs to add. Lisa once discussed this topic in Blogger United's lounge, "Do you believe that marriage is an achievement in life?".....my answer is a solid YES!!!
*
To some, marriage is too complicated and challenging. While some recognize that family life tied for the lifetime between a man and a woman is a good thing, it still is widely regarded as too hard in practice. Why does one regard marriage as "too hard" to commit when men could brave through storms, and risk their lives to climb Mount Everest or plunge into deep seas and prove that they could hold their breath the longest. The thrill? The adrenaline rush?
*
I was once that fellow who does not believe in marriage. I made jokes about marriage, mocked those who were getting married and criticized those who were married. Why all the fuss?? What's so special about marriage? Wedding vows??? Gimme a break. Vows were meant to be broken. What happens if you suddenly felt that the person you're married with for the last 10 years was not "the" one and you wished you didn't say "I DO"? So many questionss, so little answers.
*
For many, there are too many rules in marriage. You can't do this, you can't do that. You can't have this, you shan't have that. Who made these rules anyway?? God?? My answer is this. God did not put rules in marriage. Men did. God gave us brains to think and set us apart from the animals. Are there secrets to a happy marriage. The answer is a simple no. The simple truth is that there is no universal secret. There are no manuals or standardized set of governing rules set in place to ensure and happy and successful marriage. The solid, simple truth is.....your marriage is what you make it, and any rules governing your behaviours should be determined by you and your spouse.
*
But of course, some simple common sense that needs to be invoked are like honesty, no cheating etc etc etc.....
"A large problem I see with the concept of marriage is the actual meaning of marriage as shared by much of the population. Too many view the ritual of marriage as a form of success and status that must be attained by a certain age, thereafter followed by children as the next logical step. Many of you have undoubtedly uttered to yourself or to acquaintances that you will soon be a certain age, so perhaps it is time to get married soon." - Scott Kessman
*
And if this is your logical explanation to get married, then you're getting married for the wrong reasons. Marriage is all about strengtening that bond of love you had, to go the extra mile, to pledge your one self to that special person wholly who feels the same way towards you. One should not be seeking marriage, one should be seeking someone to love and later on follow by marriage. Many of my bachelor friends, like me before jokes that I will be in prison for my lifetime, not able to go out together for our drinking sessions, and that my life will end in bitterness.
*
I say this, pity for them, for they are trapped in their tiny weeny small minds and in their own small world. I have been married not too long ago. I wouldn't say that my marriage is successful until the day I die. Yes, there are ups and downs, quarrels, bitterness, rants here and there.....but all these contributes to having a better marriage. We learn from each others' mistakes, we console each other when either one is down, we encourage each other and most importantly, we pray for each other all the time.
*
Communication is a major key in a successful marriage, and it must be made at a very early point what you'd expect from the relationship. Together, you can best determine what rules, if any, that need to be applied in the relationship, and how you can co-exist happily and successfully, in love, while remaining respectful of each other's wishes.

Up, up and away...the English test.

Lovers of the English language might enjoy this. It is yet another example of why people learning English have trouble with the language. Learning the nuances of English makes it a difficult language. (But then, that's probably true of many languages.)
*
There is a two-letter word in English that perhaps has more meanings than any other two-letter word, and that word is 'UP'. It is listed in the dictionary as being used as an [adv], [prep], [adj], [n] or [v].
*
It's easy to understand UP, meaning toward the sky or at the top of the list, but when we awaken in the morning, why do we wake UP? At a meeting, why does a topic come UP? Why do we speak UP, and why are the officers UP for election and why is it UP to the secretary to write UP a report? We call UP our friends and we use it to brighten UP a room, polish UP the silver, we warm UP the leftovers and clean UP the kitchen. We lock UP the house and some guys fix UP the old car. At other times the little word has a real special meaning. People stir UP trouble, line UP for tickets, work UP an appetite, and think UP excuses.
*
To be dressed is one thing but to be dressed UP is special. And this UP is confusing: A drain must be opened UP because it is stopped UP.
*
We open UP a store in the morning but we close it UP at night. We seem to be pretty mixed UP about UP!
*
To be knowledgeable about the proper uses of UP , look the word UP in the dictionary. In a desk-sized dictionary, it takes UP almost 1/4 of the page and can add UP to about thirty definitions.
*
If you are UP to it, you might try building UP a list of the many ways UP is used. It will take UP a lot of your time, but if you don't give UP, you may wind UP with a hundred or more. When it threatens to rain, we say it is clouding UP . When the sun comes out we say it is clearing UP.
*
When it rains, it wets UP the earth. When it does not rain for awhile, things dry UP. One could go on & on, but I'll wrap it UP , for now........my time is UP , so time to shut UP!
*
Oh..one more thing: What is the first thing you do in the morning & the last thing you do at night? U------ P--
*
Don't screw UP. Now I'll shut UP!!

Stay healthy....some tips

Now here's some good tips to stay healthy all the time. No, booze is out of the question. What was it again?...No, junk food is not healthy food. I'm not talking about food intake. It's the dos' and don'ts' in life. Okay, let's stay focus on the subject at hand. There was a research done at some place, by some clever people, some time ago. In order to stay healthy, these are what you need to do.....(I've highlighted some of my personal favourites!!)
*
Health:
1...Drink plenty of water.
2...Eat breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince and dinner like a beggar.
3...Eat more foods that grow on trees and plants and eat less food that is manufactured in plants.
4...Live with the 3 E's -- Energy, Enthusiasm, and Empathy.
5...Make time for prayer (I'm no angel, but hey it really does work. Test God for his blessings, and He will surely answer you)
6...Play more games/sports.
7...Read more books than you did in 2008.
8...Sit in silence for at least 10 minutes each day.
9...Sleep for at least 7 hours.
10...Take a 10-30 minutes walk every day. And while you walk, smile (but don't tersengih only lar. People will say you're crazy)
*
Personality:
11...Don't compare your life to others'. You have no idea what their journey is all about.
12...Don't have negative thoughts or things you cannot control. Instead invest your energy in the positive present moment.
13...Don't over do. Keep your limits.
14...Don't take yourself so seriously. No one else does.
15...Don't waste your precious energy on gossip (ladies?? *hints*)
16...Dream more while you are awake.
17...Envy is a waste of time. You already have all you need.
18...Forget issues of the past. Don't remind your partner with his/her mistakes of the past. That will ruin your present happiness.
19...Life is too short to waste time hating anyone. Don't hate others.
20...Make peace with your past so it won't spoil the present.
21...No one is in charge of your happiness except you.
22...Realize that life is a school and you are here to learn. Problems are simply part of the curriculum that appear and fade away like algebra class but the lessons you learn will last a lifetime.
23...Smile and laugh more.
24...You don't have to win every argument. Agree to disagree.
*
Society:
25...Call your family often.
26...Each day give something good to others.
27...Forgive everyone for everything.
28...Spend time with people over the age of 70 & under the age of 6.
29...Try to make at least three people smile each day.
30...What other people think of you is none of your business.
31...Your job won't take care of you when you are sick. Your friends will. Stay in touch.
*
Life:
32...Do the right thing!
33...Get rid of anything that isn't useful, beautiful or joyful.
34...GOD heals everything.
35...However good or bad a situation is, it will change.
36...No matter how you feel, get up, dress up and show up.
37...The best is yet to come.
38...When you awake alive in the morning, thank GOD for it.
39...Your Inner most is always happy. So, be happy. Smile!

2 things you should know about bosses...

This was the amount of workload I had this whole freakin' week!!!
*
Have you encountered bosses who are so into themselves, that every freakin' thing is wrong about you. From the way you eat, the way you dress, the way you walk, the way you talk......everyting is just freakin' wrong (notice I use freakin' a lot as a substitute for #!$$%!).
*
2 things we should know about our bosses :-
*
item 1........THE BOSS IS ALWAYS RIGHT!!!
Sad but true. If you happen to have a boss who is understanding, takes ideas, gentle and compassionate.....then good for you. If you don't, then welcome to the club. I've read somewhere from the net, that in order to be a good boss, there are 5 ways you can achieve that (so that you don't end up like your current boss!!)
*
1. Know your employees. You have walked the talk and understand what your subordinates are doing.
*
2. Care about your employees. You have to understand that each of your employee has a unique character, abilities and differing circumstances.
*
3. Pay attention to grouses, feedbacks and complaints. There are reasons for the complaints unless of course he/she is a nut, and complaining is a part time hobby.
*
4. Be fair, and no favourites. Your rules and regulations are to be made across the board.
*
5. Be accessible. You're the boss from 9 to 5, but after working hours, try to be in your employees' shoes. Be one of them some time.
*
*
*
and secondly, if you know your boss is wrong for whatever reason, KINDLY REFER TO ITEM NO 1 - enuff said. Your working place is a hell on earth.

Boring CNY

Nothing much had happened during the CNY celebrations. Let me see....what did I do??
*
Ate, slept, drank, got topsy turvy, got hungover, ate, slept again, gambled a lil bit, loss 100 bucks, drank again, got hungover again, slept summore, ate, tooks some photos, hanged out with buddies till 4 am playing the guitar, drank a heeluvalot more, gave angpows, got bankrupt, ate slept, went to Kemaman to visit my in laws, gave ang pows summore, slept, drank, took summore photos....the list goes on. And yeah, nothing much happened :)
*
I don't know about you, but I find it very dissapointing not to hear fire crackers exploding and lion dances tong-chang-ing around town anymore. Yes, you may hear some pops here and there, and drums banging from afar, but CNY is not the usual CNY anymore. What's CNY without the loud crackers?? It's like, what's Hari Raya like without the ketupat and rendang, and what's deepavali like without the curry and papadam. And to make matters worse, even the lions seemed so much skinnier. Their dance step was crappy, the drummer was yawning, the other members were smoking and talking away, couldn't care less to lead the lion's head and the poor fellow at the back gets to smell his partner's bottom. Overall, I rate this year's CNY a humble 5/10. It could've been 6 but due to the fact that I had to give away angpows, a minus 1 is a fair deal.
*
How about you?? You feel me mates.....

An encouragement for you..

MY STRENGTH OR HIS POWER
*
If in my own strength I wage war victory is not won,
I’ll come home for relief with many things undone.
Boasting of selfish gains,
yet sapped of all my strength,
wearied in my days and life shortened in its length.
*
When tensions do build and peace from me does flee,
quickly must I acknowledge this is not of Christ, but me.
I must turn my feet and make haste to go,
to the One who has power to forgive and to show.
*
The path I must take is one of humility and grace,
for only when His power fills can I victoriously run the race.
God will not fill me until of self am I freed,
then and only then will the Lord take the lead.
*
My heart, mind and soul before God being stilled,
my emptiness the preparation for by God being filled.
My boasting must be of my weakness before God,
seeing eternal as the foundation for all praise, honor and laud.
*
I fight daily in the world against a tireless evil foe,
save for emptying of self there will be no victory I’ll know.
A sense of my own weakness must ever be,
present in my life for me to be able to see.
*
Its God’s power in battle, being strong in His might,
as His warrior I march onward in His ever-present light.
It’s only in my weakness can the power of God rest,
engaging in battles that will put me to the test.
*
My strength must I lay down while this world do I roam,
dwelling only in His power as I walk onward toward home
*

Ever wondered if this was done in Malaysia....how long will they last??

These are some of the bus stops in Europe and Japan. Clean, tidy, cute and most inviting. I think some of them were air-conditioned too.

and last but not least.....our very own. Can't blame the govt for not wanting to build bus stops like the ones above. I cannot help but imagine the condition it will be in just 10 minutes.....but I guess, curiosity kills a cat.....Malaysians are like toddlers. The more you say you can't do this, you can't do that......the more they would do it.

Now to "lari" topic a lil bit......
Since it has been 2 days in 2009, what is your new year's resolution? Or rather, do you have a resolution? Will 2009 be just another year? Will there be achievements or progresses that you aimed for? Or maybe you have saved enough money to purchase the dream house you've been drooling for the past year? Or you've mustered up all your guts to say "Hey, I like you, why dont we go out for lunch"....to the girl next door? Well, I have.....and the list has got no end. I was drowning myself with thoughts and pondered, how the hell am I going to achieve all of my resolutions in 365 days. The clock is ticking and 2 days have now gone by. After banging my head against my bedroom wall, and having my mom grumbling and fussing over the noise that I made, I made a 5 items list (actually it was 10 but decided to scrap out some due to pening-ness!!)
*
1. I want a raise in salary. How do I go about that??? Work harder than ever and prove to my boss that.....I CAN DO IT!!
*
2. I need a new car!! Yup, I didnt get my new car. It was supposedly to be either a Honda Jazz or an Impul....but my economics didnt add up. But I guess, there's always a blessing in disguise. The all new Honda City is now my ream car. Tried and tested.....no doubt a much better built machine as compared to its latter.
*
3. I need to save more. Not that Ive been spending all my blood earned savings, but since I'm planning on item 4......
*
4. I want to start my own family.....Calvin junior to be exact. Rachel and I have been discussing this even before we were married. It's important to plan and to think a step ahead before executing. The baby would be taking more than half our salaries every month. We have got to cut our spendings and time to be with him/her. I would even have to sell my DSLR......nooooooo!!!!!!! We even have names for them. Me, being the "banana" of the family got the Christian names and am proud of it.....3 Es,.....Elisha (for a baby girl), Ezekiel, Elijah. 3 names that you can find in the Good Book.
*
5. I need to spend more time with God. For the past years, I have been neglecting my daily prayer. I didn't even read the Good Book. Reason.....no time!!! What a load of bull!! I spent half my free time playing PS3, watching DVDs, going out for supper and movies....but I put Him aside in one small corner. And I know that God has been calling me to come back to Him ever since. He gave me many signs, and yet I ignored Him. Last Christmas I made my commitment to God....to be closer to Him in prayers and the Bible, to be involved in youth works in and around Kuantan. He knows my heart....and let His will be done.

IMG_3514

Occasionally, some stupid idiotic morons got me red hot pissed off. Every morning I would turn to Mix FM, faithfully listening to those two crazee DJ dudes JJ and Ian......they were asking their callers what presents they's received or want to receive. A lady called in and mentioned that wanted a Pussycat Dolls Concert DVD, instead she got a Tiffany's necklace from her bf. Naturally, any lady would be hysterical...err maybe not hysterical, but obliviously happy having received something from Tiffany's, especially from a loved one. So JJ said a big wow!! Of course a necklace is something much better than a freakin DVD. But that kerazee lady said it was a bit too much coz this shows that her bf is ready for a commitment but she is not. So shocked JJ and Ian when bonkers and asked if she would want to give the necklace back to her bf.....her answer...."No, I would keep the necklace and break off with him." What the.........*tut tut tut*.
*
How can the *tut tut tut* do such a horrible thing to her bf....and it was live on radio. And MixFM is still airing it every now and then. So, to you the *tut tut tut* lady caller, if you so happen read this post, I'd just like to say *tut tut tut* and *tut tut tut* to you. (Gosh!! I really have to go confess after this post.) If I were in your bf's shoes, I'd already smacked you in the head and I would have dumped you already.....even if you were joking. If you are not ready for a commitment, it should be made known from the start, and not after receiving an expensive gift. Let me share this just for all my readers to ponder upon......"

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away" 1 Corinthians 13:4-8

"Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love." Ephesians 4:2

Namawee's back at it again.....

One of my colleague (and blogger btw) Zarni caught me by suprise when he asked whether I've heard Namawee's (Negarakuku) latest Youtube postings. I said no. He said "You tarak guna lar!!!" So, came evening I search for it and it got me laughing hysterically. I'm not sure if you're aware of this, but it's too good not to share. Apparently, I think he got sued by the school for using the compound for the shoot. Please don't go teaching this to your children...... :P

Think before you speak...

Here are some reasons why we should think before we speak. Have you ever spoken or uttered words and wished that you could immediately take those words back? Here are some testimonials that some who did.....

1st Testimony
I walked into a hair salon with my husband and 3 kids and asked loudly... "How much do you charge for a hair cut and a blow job?" After having said that, I quickly turned and walked out and never went back. My husband didnt say a word....he knew better.
*
2nd Testimony
I was at a golf store comparing different golf balls. I was unhappy with the womens' type I had been using. After several minutes, I was approached by one of the good looking gentlemen who works at the store. He asked if he could help me. Without thinking, I looked at him and said "I think I like playing with mens' balls."
*
3rd Testimony
My sister and I were at a mall and passed by a store that sold a variety of candy and nuts. As we were looking at the display case, the boy behind the counter asked if we needed help. I looked up and immediately said "No. Im just looking at your nuts." My sister laughed hysterically. The boy grinned as I turned beet red and walked away. Till this day, my sister has never let me forget.
*
4th Testimony
While in line at a bank one fine afternoon, my toddler decided to release some pent-up energy and ran amok. I was finally able to grab hold of him after receiving looks of disgust from other patrons. I told him if he did not start behaving himself "right now", he would be punished. To my horror, he looked me in the eye and said in a voice just as threatening "If you dont let me go right now, I will tell Grandma you kissed daddy's wee-wee last night." The silence was deafening after this enlightening exchange. Even the tellers stop what they were doing. I mustered the last of my dignity and walked out the bank with my son in tow. The last thing I heard as the door closed behind me, were screams of laughter.
*
5th Testimony
Have you ever asked your child a question too many times ? My three-year-old son had a lot of problems with potty training and I was on him constantly One day we stopped at Taco Bell for a quick lunch in between errands. It was very busy, with a full dining room. While enjoying my taco, I smelled something funny, so of course I checked my seven-month-old daughter, and she was clean. Then I realized that David had not asked to go potty in a while. I asked him if he needed to go, and he said "No". I kept thinking "Oh Lord, that child has had an accident, and I don't have any clean clothes with me." Then I said, "David, are you SURE you didn't have an accident ?" "No," he replied. I just KNEW that he must have had an accident, because the smell was getting worse. So, I asked one more time, "David, did you have an accident ?" This time he jumped up, yanked down his pants, bent over, spread his cheeks and yelled "SEE MOM, IT'S JUST FARTS !!" While 30 people nearly choked to death on their tacos laughing, he calmly pulled up his pants and sat down. An older couple made me feel better, thanking me for the best laugh they'd ever had !
*
6th Testimony
This one had most of the state of Michigan laughing for 2 days and a very embarrassed female news anchor who will, in the future, likely think before she speaks. What happens when you predict snow, but don't get any ? We had a female news anchor who, the day after it was supposed to have snowed and didn't, turned to the weatherman and asked: "So Bob, where's that 8 inches you promised me last night ?" Not only did HE have to leave the set, but half the crew did too, they were laughing so hard!

Hand miming at its best - Come To Jesus Fellowship (CTJF Ministry in the Philippines)

I got this amazing clip from Tiffany. And since its Christmas tide, I just want to share this for all.

I hope you have enjoyed it as much as I have. God bless...... :)

What makes Christmas so special?

Christmas is around corner.....just 31 days to go, to be exact. What makes it so special? Why do everyone seems to have such an enjoyable time this time of year. Shopping discounts....booze....partying all night long....or maybe its just to usher in the new year. Even my Muslim friends and colleagues were anxiously anticipating what to do for Christmas.
Well, as for me and my family, it's family gathering and reunion. I have a small family. Since my dad passed on ages ago, we do not have much family reunions. During Chinese New Year, we would be sleeping or watching TV. I for one disliked to visit my dad's family as we were not close. Communication was also a barrier. I'm part Hainam, part Baba & Nyonya. I'm totally foreign to the Hainam language. I only know "Bong-kang" which is "Stupid", or "Chiak-peng" which is "Eat Rice". Furthermore, my dad's family would be calling me "Ah Jinnnnn", much to my disgust (gave me the chills every time they call for me). To this very day, my family would converse in our traditional Nyonya language, Rachel is learning bit by bit :)
After our baptism (the whole family involved), which was about 15 years ago, we came to know Christ much better. And we also learned that Christmas is not about partying and booze, but to delight in the birth of Christ some 2,000 years ago. Yes, we ought to be happy, we ought to rejoice, and we ought to be thankful to God for sacrificing His only Son for our salvation. That is the main agenda, nothing else. My friends and colleagues often say that I have lack of social commitment coz I don't go to discos, I don't go for karaoke sessions (accept when Im in KL....Rachel and I would visit Red Box), I don't go clubbing....I hardly do anything else besides being with my family and church. Why all the fuss, guys? If you want to have a booze, can't you do it at home? You don't even have to worry about police raids (which I'm very much sure will happen) and spoil your day. You can even drink till the crack of dawn with no worries. You won't be paying extra entrance fees for discos and waste your annual bonuses unneccessarily.
Enough said. Back to glad tidings. Every year my mum would have prepared several mouth watering delicacies for Christmas. Turkey is a must (minimum 5-6kg)....we want to follow those Ang Mohs lar....hehehehe. She would also prepared her own turkey stuffing which is always different each year (that would include some liquor...rum in particular), her very own sheperd's pie (omg...drooling already), mashed potato, some assorted macaronis and spaghettis, lasagna, vegetable salad and cakes (rum again). And we would have a jolly good time having all those goodies with wine of course. And that's for day 1.....Christmas eve. Come sharp 12.00am, we would gather around and mom would be Santa Claus, giving out our gifts.
As for day 2, we would often invite some of our church friends for dinner. And we can have all of the goodies again (new ones of course) with some extra food brought over by them. We would have our normal Praise & Worship session and some carols before dinner. And it would last till about 2.ooam. We would have stuffed our belly with so much food that we wouldnt even bother to move....that's me in particular....hehehehe
This year would be a lil bit different. Pastor said that for this year's Christmas, there would be no service. Service will be made on Christmas eve at 7.00pm, and will end at about 12.30am Christmas morning. We were to bring 2 gifts each....one to be presented to God, and another for our fellow brothers and sisters in Christ. I'm still praying about what I should be giving to God. Whatever it is, I reckon I would enjoy this year's Christmas as much as I had for the previous years, plus I would be celebrating my 1st Christmas with Rachel as husband and wife.

The things that you do for love.

Usually, when driving around town, I would usually hold Rachel hands. Most of the time I would say, "Where's your hand?" and she would immediately take her hands to my lips for a kiss and vice versa. It's like a remote. This morning was particularly funny. Instead of me holding her hands, she held mine. Pecking here and there. And then all of a sudden, she bite me. Not hard enough for me to scream, but I was little suprised. And then I asked her "What was that for?"......then she answered "I Love You mah"......then we laughed.
How bout you? Would you bite your spouses as a gesture of love? :)
People often say, action speaks louder than words. Talk-talk, no do-do. But I say, actions and words are equally important. Most Asians do not normally express our love verbally to our loved ones. Maybe its because of our upbringing. We are ego-istic people. Once you utter the word "love"...... very paiseh. Not macho, for the men.
I am very fortunate that my family is very close to each other. We would greet each other in the mornings and kiss my mum before going to work. We would say "I love you" as often as we can. Rachel, on the other hand was brought up in a typical Chinese family. She has yet to hear a word of I love you from her family. Malu wor....When Rachel was introduced to my family, I made her do her worst nightmare....saying I LOVE YOU to my family members. To add to the salt, I had her kiss my mum. At first, she felt awkward. Then as time flies, she felt that kissing and saying the 3 words I Love You in a family is easy. And now, it's spontaneous.
During my wedding dinner, I had a session when both Rachel and I gave both our mothers a bouquet of flowers, just to say thank you for raising us up to where we are today. Rachel gave to my mum and of course I gave to my mother in law. And as usual, we kissed our mums. I felt that my mother in law froze and shivered...hahaha.
Anyways, it is always good to express our love both verbally and by our actions. We may not see the goodness and benefit now. But treat it like an investment. The dividends would surely come. It changes people, it changed Rachel and it surely changed mine.

Family time at Handicapped and Mentally Retarded Children Centre Kuantan

As mentioned in my earlier posts, my family and I will be attending a small party made specially for the Handicapped & Mentally Retarded Children Centre Kuantan. Rachel was unable to attend as she had to work......she was grumbling all morning. We reached our destination at 3.15pm sharp. Here are some of the photos taken during our visit :-

Waiting for the party to start...my bro in law in green and sis in white

We got the children involved so that they will see how blessed they are to be normal. They were also involved in the dancing introduction......both my nieces in pink.

Sis helping out with the dance steps

Although handicapped, she sang for us clips of Burung Kakaktua, ABCD, Rasa Sayang....and many more as the party progresses....

Me and Ah Boy.....Aunt Mary warned us of this one...he likes to touch pretty ladies.... :)

My bro in law dancing along

.....and he never stopped... :)

Some of us were guiding them in the dance

This boy in pink was so happy that he jumped and waved at us during the entire party...

Then it was high tea time....my mum helping out with the feeding.

This welcome mural was drawn and coloured by them

These are the children and adults staying in the shelter.....wonder why they call them inmates

The care centre was founded by an ex lorry driver.......im really ashamed of myself
Donations can be made by form of monetary or items that the children will be using daily. For eg, napkins, rice, flour, vegetables, toothbrushes, cooking oil...etc.

I noticed this on the wall. It states....."When there is love, nothing is too much trouble and there is always time". How so very true.
*
We adjourned at about 5.30pm. Having attended this party, made me thank God again and again for His countless blessings. We never know how blessed we are until we come face to face with these. Have you thanked God lately?
